I did up some rough art for a 5e homebrew race I did up. I wanted to do something like a kitsune without them being ancient powerful spirits--something instead more grounded that could believably form a society on their own (also without overriding other peoples' interpretations of kitsune).

It's a lightweight, easy to implement race, so while I haven't tested it, it should be pretty solidly balanced. (Honestly the only thing I'd maybe change if it's too much is remove 'enthrall' from the once-per-rest spells. Or maybe limit it to just the cantrip.)

If you're interested in the race, you can check out the file on Homebrewery here

Asuta

I've seen a lot of homebrew races and this seems perfectly on par with all the other no subrace races in core. +2 to charisma, +1 to something else, Darkvision, a feature that benefits a single roll, level based casting (like Drow, Tiefling, etc) and something akin to Fey Ancestry with the only difference of not having immunity to magical sleep. All in all I like it. I'm adding this to my list of homebrew stuff that I bring to tables. I can't see anything over-the-top strong with the race and it'd be a nice change of pace for Warlock/Sorcerers other than the traditional Tiefling for the +2 Charisma.

Speakin of sorcerer, I actually made a sorcerer subclass as well, that's also of the same theme: Yokai ancestory. https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/r1bf_6H6KV Their features are: an expanded spell list, and a small fluff / roleplay feature (playing off of the idea of good luck charms); the ability to alter fate and try to get a bit of bonus damage or healing, and then apply a +/- 1d4 to a roll you can see on a reaction. And then for their later skills they can essentially blink around (most other sorcs get some movement at level 14), and level 18 they can enthrall a target to try and lure them to their death. One obvious fit would be a tsukitsune with a full blooded kitsune ancestor / awakening. :y It's not tested yet, however.

Actually working on a big home-brew project at the moment where we are taking most (Like maybe not 60 of the 220 something races) of the monster girl races from Monster Girl Encyclopaedia and making a full book compiling them all. So I guess look forward to that whenever it gets done seeing as how the thing will probably be over 400 pages.
