The Patreon Role update is here! (Patreon)

What this means:

There are now two variants of each role! One SFW, one NSFW.

Whenever I publish a NSFW post, it'll only be viewable to people who are in one of the default NSFW roles. SFW users won't have to see it.

If you select a SFW role, you'll also get the 'SFW' tag in Discord if you join it, so you won't see the NSFW channels (except for the lunchbox if applicable, which is rarely NSFW).

The original roles are the ones that are NSFW enabled, so if you stay in your current role you won't see any changes. You'll still have access to all old posts and any future (applicable) ones.

One caveat: people in the 'SFW' tiers will actually not have access to some older posts that were tier-specific. This is the only issue with how this was implemented, and honestly I can't see an easy fix on Patreon's end. The only thing I could do would be to edit old posts to adjust the access settings.

Luckily, this doesn't affect posts that were published to "all patrons" instead of specific tiers, which is how I published most SFW content. There's a few things where this won't apply, but I have over 2000 posts on Patreon. If you switch roles but find something you wanted to access, just let me know and I'll tweak the post for you.

EDIT: actually it looks like a compatibility thing is present. Old posts are accessible depending by pledged amount, unless I opt to edit them at all. So, that is something to be aware of if you switch to a SFW tier: the changes apply to all FUTURE posts. You may see older NSFW posts if you browse through the history.

On the note of having any pledged amount, It's important to note that if you are not in a defined role, you will not see any selectable-tier posts. Be sure to update your role to one that you'd like--as long as you're pledging at least the amount listed you can still join it.

With this change I've also unpublished the $1 role. I'll continue to honor it for SFW posts however, using the 'patrons only' publishing as I always have.
