The writing is definitely where I thought it struggled. This and Sabrina more or less felt like the exact same show just with a different cast. This one maybe even slightly more YA than Sabrina was.

Enid reminds me of Willow from Buffy(the early seasons). Jenna Ortega agrees with you about the love triangle. She didn't believe Wednesday would be involved in a "romantic" relationship.

I wanna say one of the main issues was the writing, which it’s been released they’re looking for new writers for season 2? So hopefully that brings it to another level bc I think it can honestly effect their acting. 🤷🏽‍♀️ but ep 8 did have me rooting for Enid and I hope the Nightshades become more serious next season. Maybe a training montage? Let’s see how it goes.
