ROUNDUP: August, Week 2 (Patreon)

I don't have much to share this week! Two of my commissioners never responded, and I spent most of the day Wednesday at the hospital -- luckily all the tests turned out alright and I have a clear bill of health (with that particular issue, at least).

I'm also taking some time off from commissions and from art in general, at least a week or two. I haven't had much passion for drawing lately, and I think the grind of commissions isn't helping (even though I appreciate the income and the support). If I want to reignite my drive to draw, I have to take a step back and reconnect with what makes art special for me in the first place. Hopefully I'll be able to do that with this break.

Anyway! The art!

1. Fiera (OC): All the references I was given for this one were bright sunny scenes, so I wanted to change things up with a darker atmosphere. The character is a pyromancer, which opened up a fun way to light the scene that would further highlight her traits.

2. Lreya (OC): Glasses are always so hard to draw, lol. The flower crown was complicated, too, but I find drawing flowers kind of relaxing. Their references were fairly realistic, and I found myself pushing the art to be a bit more realistic as well to match it. It can be tough to ride that line between matching the character as presented without aping it and losing my own style, but I think it went alright in the end.
