The hard drive of my desktop failed last weekend, and even though I found a local computer place to fix it, they had to order a replacement drive and it won't be in until sometime early next week. Fortunately I have an external drive with all my files backed up, so I didn't lose anything. I do have a laptop (on which I'm typing this post), but it's Windows and my desktop is Mac so transferring files from my backup is tricky. In the meantime, I can't really work digitally.

Sorry for the wait! I've still been doing studies in my sketchbooks, so hopefully when I have my usual tools back I won't be rusty. Have a great weekend and fingers crossed that everything's back to normal at some point next week.

I do believe that if you format (don't format unless your external drive is empty) your external drive using exFAT instead of NTFS it should be able to read the drive on Mac OS and Windows! Just a thought. Hope you get the drive soon regardless! 😊

Alternatively, Linux might help! Running Ubuntu off a flash drive would let you mount both the laptop's boot disk, and the external drive. Just something to keep in mind. But hey man, you've been working hard, and you deserve a break anyway. Take care of yourself, 'kay? ^~^

I read the same thing! When I can transfer my files back to a working computer and start over with the external, I'll try exFAT instead -- main issue there is that Time Machine won't work, but I can just get in the habit of manually backing stuff up. Planning on making the switch to Windows for my desktop in the future when I get money saved up for it, so that should make things easier.

Hope you can enjoy this unscheduled break, don't let random technical problems beat you down, All your work is amazing, regardless how frequent or infrequent
