I know it's not exactly what I promised but I dunno. I just felt like doing something like this again. Just look at that majestic knot swaying back and forth. Those hips mmph!
In this render I continue to use vector blur like in the previous animations. I also played with the shadow catcher that was recently added the blender. This overall made the renders much faster since I only had to render the background once, then could have a shadow painted over it. The side affect is that it's kinda easy to have your model look like it's hovering above the ground instead of touching it, especially when minor clipping occurs. Will do my best to not let this happen.
But as I said, the render times were real. Usually for an outdoor scene like this (there's no roof, just a wall and floor) it'd take 5 minutes a frame. This was going at a minute per frame since I got to exclude the background. Even then though, that seems a bit crazy cause I've done floating models before that were around the 3~5 minute per frame mark. So.. perhaps they just optimized their render engine a bit more? That's cool. :O
