So far, I always said: "install the latest HFpatch to fix any problem loading a card" in any card description. But, in fact, I haven't used the latest HFpatch for quite some time. I'm still using things from old "more accessories" era, mainly because I'm still used to accStateSync functionality than accesoryStates. As far as I know, accStateSync can only be used on old version of more accessories plugin. That's one reason I still used old version of plugins, rather than upgrading all stuff to the latest. The other reason is: honestly I like accStateSync better than accesoryStates (I tried this plugin on KKS), cause accStateSync open a new windows, rather than fused with KK UI, which I feel make things more cluttered. That being said, accesoryStates can 'somewhat' read accStateSync data, hence you using latest HFpatch and I'm not is generally no problem, since the two is still compatible.

But, me using old accs stuff meaning: I can't use some newer stuff provided in latest HFpatch. This kinda set me back in card making progression, since I can't use a lot of juicer new stuff. Also, latest HFpatch will have better compatibility to KKS, the sequel of the game, since the two using same stuff, basically.

So, I want to ask your opinion: should I upgrade to the latest HFpatch? To summary the pros and cons, as far as my understanding, it's something like this:

  • Old acc stuff covers most users, both old and new. But, no new plugins.
  • Latest HFpatch covers less users. But, It has lots of new plugins and has better compatibility with KKS.

Of course, I may have misinformed or misunderstand stuff. You can correct me or tell me some information I don't know in the comment.

If it’s possible with your system, have one version of koi running the latest update to see what’s new and improve and when you finish working with it transfer over that file to the old version and see how it handles. does it crash, does it glitch, or maybe not even compatible??? I do this with sunshine since the updates are very resent some problems will appears but is better for me to find them and try to solve them so I can prevent other people from running into them

Well, so far, I have nothing to complain about HF patch 3.16, aside from accesoryStates sometimes reset the accs settings. Still, I found a workaround for that, so that's not really a problem, for now. As for testing the cards in old and new plugins pack, is that means I should make sure it works on both? If yes, then I will end up limiting myself with: can't use more than 20 accs and can't use plugins that transfer regular clothing into accs, which defeat the purpose of modding the game to begin with. Also, there's so many variation of old plugin packs, even custom accStatesSync+new more accs, so I don't know If I can make cards that compatible for all setup. My best bet is to stick to HF patch or BR, since they relatively similar, tho I'll keep tracking, if some updates break things, I'll just revert.

It sounds like the crashes are do to the hardware they using, I have use your artoria experimental card to see the difference between shaders and never crash for me, but my pc is running with a 1080ti and 64gb of ram. Also I’m using everything in sunshine

Yeah. My hardware actually isn't that powerful (laptop, 8 gb ram, GTX 1050), and I can pretty much load the tessellated card without any issues.
