I'm sure by now you have seen the new shuttle interior used in episode 1. This fantastic drawing was done by Caba111, our newest BG artist.

We started off with a brief and some rough sketches. The initial sketch looked closer to this:

We knew we wanted the controls on the left, a screen in the middle and a door on the right. The sketch above was great, but the perspective wouldn't work, and the control panels curved too much into view.

After some deliberations and iterations, we settled on the final sketch for the scene. Next up Caba111 had to clean up the linework so coloring could start.

We deliberately left out some details to stay in budget, and the intention is to come back to these drawings in a few months once the most urgent backgrounds are done, to touch them up and add more details and polish.

Flat colors were filled in. We wanted the human ships to have a "Futuristic NASA" feeling to them, and this also goes for the color design. You'll see a lot of whites and grays for these interiors.

Lastly, shading. We also darkened the image slightly to better fit with the atmosphere of the game. The source images are always quite large (x3 the size of the final scaled down resolution) making it easier to capture zoomed in scenes, or to focus on a specific element of the background during a scene.

That's what we have to share with you today. Our team has been spending most of this week trying to maximize our awareness of the first episode launching. We'll continue doing this for another day or two before shifting our attention back to the second episode.

There are still some minor changes to be made to the first episode as we go on, the biggest being replacing the current Drop-Drone interior image with one done by Caba111, and the second implementing Veera's character art where she is wearing the combat armor.

In the meantime, if you have any feedback or want to help out by spreading the awareness of Infinite Stars, you are welcome to reach out!
