Those of you that were invited to the beta testing would have noticed the lovely new main menu ship (It’s the same one used in our Patreon banner)

As a treat we wanted to share how we got to that design.

First we played around with several ship designs before deciding on a direction. My personal favorites are the two on the right.

After finding the right direction, (Remember the post from earlier about how realistic, scifi combat ships won’t have bridges like modern day naval ships?)  we settled on a rough idea.

The artist (GShadow_X, who is also happened to be one of our beta testers) then took some creative freedom with the shape of the final design.

After the line-art was done, he continued to do some coloring and shading until we had our finished product.

Fun fact: The original engine and light colors were purple!

I hope you enjoyed the insight!

In other news, beta testing has been continuing, and we’ve been able to identify and fix several small issues thanks to our testers. We look forward to sharing the patron only early access version of the game by next week!

If you like what we are doing, please consider becoming a patron. We understand that not everyone has the available funds to do so but you can always sign up to our mailing list. That way you won't miss the free public release of Infinite Stars. We also love our fans who are helping to spread the word about the game to their friends and on social media!

Images like this (which remind me about the concept art I've seen of Homeworld 1) and the previous blog posts gives you an idea of the amount of thought and work that goes into this project. Looking forward to see how this grows, and the story itself.
