Shuttle Interior WiP (Patreon)

Today we’re sharing some of the steps it took to create our fabulous shuttle interior background done by Ava, our background artist.

Almost all of our art assets start out with references to get a look and feel for what the final image should look like. Think of it as a mood board if you will. That being said, what our artists achieve with these references is nothing short of magic.

After some thought and discussion the artist comes back with a simple line sketch. This is done to ensure that if anything needs to change, we can change it early on before coloring starts.

Once the line art is approved, the artist starts coloring with flat colors that also need to be approved to make sure that the color palette will work for the setting. (Sadly we don't have a flat color image to show you right now)

And lastly we get a full color, shaded image like the one shown here.

We have tons of respect for our fantastic artists. Both Ava (Backgrounds) and Zaph (Characters) are exceptionally talented and as always it’s a great pleasure working with them.
