You do realize that, while Jar Jar has the track record of an incompetent, he has still always completed his missions successfully. On top of that, Palpy probably chose him for 2 reasons. First he wanted to send someone that was NOT a good choice to give Dooku time and opportunity to escape. Second, he may have been one of the few available options. Notice he sent a senator and a representative and not 2 senators. could be a staffing issue or too many away from the capital and not enough that were privy to the information were available.

While I feel like padme gets more hate than she deserves from aspects of the fan base, Leia definitely. Putting aside the expanded universe where she is awesome she just seems to be better handled in her trilogy. Though admittedly I am not sure how much of padme’s writing was intentionally off and how much it was just not thought through on the part of Lucas. Either way I’d probably say they handle her better in the show. Also hands down my favorite Obi Wan line: For all your expertise this is not a very smooth landing!
