It's been years since I finished Garo, feel so fun to rewatch the show along with you guys! Garo does consider famous in the adult Toku series. Having slow starts, but it will get better and better! The series is directed and created by Keita Amemiya, who is well known for his distinct style of fantasy design. The calligraphy in the show, such as the changing calligraphy in the opening, is drawn by him. He is also the director of Kamen Rider ZO. Maybe you can do the all Kamen Rider Opening reaction, that'll be fun. Since you mention actions, the actions in Garo are the reason why I even started Garo. The actions in Garo are more about hand-to-hand combat. Unlike Riders usually Henshin to fight, Makai Knights can only summon their armor for a maximum of 99.9s, they must summon at the right timing to give the horrors the finishing blow. Also, Kouga is human though he always talks about humans like he is not. The basic power system in Garo is called Madou Power (Not sure if this is the correct translation for English), I don't think they will explain it in the series so I'll just put them here instead. Unlike the "Perspective", "Teleportation" or other well-known superpowers, Madou Power is more like a special power that lives inside your mind. People with this power can't just use it directly, must use some kind of medium to unleash the power. The Madou Power also decides how long a Makai Knight can wear his Armor. The series never mentions that are people born with this power or that everybody can train to have it, but I believe the latter. Garo is the title given for the Strongest Makai Knight. So whoever gets Garo Armor, I bet the Armor will most likely pass down in the family, since the child will be trained by the best man. This is the period where the Saijima Family gets the Garo Armors. That holds a lot of weight for Kouga, I think he just never lived a normal human life. He was born to be the protector of humans and go through a lot of harsh training during his childhood, then witness his father's death. He never wants connections with people after that and fills his life with training and mission. A lot like Batman don't you think? So seeing him gradually develop a relationship with Kaoru makes my heart warm. About why he can just walk around the street in those fancy clothes, those are made of special material from Makai, which can deceive human eyes also has four-dimensional space in it so he can just store his sword in it. Every Makai Knights have those. The animes have different protagonists for every season, and for Tokusatsu, after we finished Saijima Family's storyline, we'll change protagonists. Because Makai Knights and Horrors has been exist and battled since ancient times, wherever there's light, shadows lurk, and fear reigns. Makai will always be there and horrors will always exist as long as humans exist. There're countless GAROs throughout history and we're being told the legendary story of one of the GAROs.
