As a quick side note right off the top, I do hope that you check out the Afterward for this volume (and maybe check out the ones for the first two volumes too). I think hearing what Reki has to say about the volume also adds to the experience. Anyway, we finally got to the big battle in the middle of the arc. I do agree that this is one of the best fight scenes in Fairy Dance, mostly because it’s one of the few big ones. Either way, the way that the anime captured it was amazing too. As for the races in ALO, I think this is the first time that I’m not entirely sure how far he has gone with it. I don’t think there is much about many of the races, but there is some basic information here and there throughout the novels. Only one of the races doesn’t really get shown through any character in the series. That race being the Pooka (Musical Fairy). Sasha (That caretaker in the Yui story) is a Pooka, but you only see her for a moment at the end of the Fairy Dance arc in the anime, and the only other character who is a Pooka is a character named Seven, but she has only appeared in the games (And yes, there are games for the ALO series. I can’t say they’re very good though). Volume 2 has a plot point that is completely omitted from the anime (Depending on when you read this you might’ve already tumbled onto it). It’s something that is mentioned again later in the Calibur arc in the anime, but just as a short flashback. I can see why it was cut, but it will be some LN exclusive content. As for the progressive movie, I really can’t wait for you to see it. Саша Одинец and I talked about it after it released and we came to the conclusion that it was a great movie as a standalone thing, but it doesn’t necessarily feel canon to the rest of the story. Even Reki mentioned that the new character won’t be retconned into the light novels either, at least not in the way that the movie portrayed it. The movie still adapted certain parts of the Progressive light novel that were great, but they still skipped over a lot of content. I do think they captured many aspects of the characters that I think the main anime series completely glossed over (I guess that’s what you get when you finally get a director who actually likes the series). They’re skipping over floor 2 and going straight to floor 5 so we’ll have to see how that works out for the next movie. They also skipped over all of Argo’s scenes which I was fuming about. Anyway, I hope you can get to the Progressive novels soon too. Volume 8 released not too long ago. Although I think I’m more excited for you to get to Unital Ring. Last thing, since I’m on the topic of future light novels, I don’t know if you read but Reki mentioned that he is planning to write SAO for at least ten more years. He also mentioned that Accel World is about to reach its end. If things do work out like that, that means that he’s going to be about 57 by the time he finishes SAO. And to think he started when he was around 27 when he started SAO. That’s some dedication right there.

While I would have liked to see some Argo, them skipping over Argo scenes in the Progressive movie makes a lot of sense. Argo barely had any screen-time in Aria anyway and 95% of her screen-time was tied to her subplot with Kirito/Kirito's perspective. Asuna isn't involved in that sub-plot and does't have the same perspective as Kirito so she is barely involved with Argo on this Floor, since the movie is generally done from Asuna's POV we naturally wouldn't get much of it even if they kept it in.
