I find the similarities between Kakashi's reflections on his life and Jiraiya's to be an interesting look at both of these characters; their greatest, most compelling senses and memories are of regret, but that inner sense of inadequacy, failure, and loss, push both of them to put on very theatrical personas. I think that one of the most interesting things about Naruto, and in particular Shippuden, is the exploration of the duality of what we think in our own heads and what we choose to show to the world. Naruto's greatest strength and his most interesting characteristic is his departure from this: as a child, he acted out and chose to be rebellious because he was made to feel like an outsider. As he transitions into adulthood, he accepts who he is and changes what he shows to the world to be more congruent with what he thinks. His success is really a measure of how much he is able to integrate what he feels into what he chooses to do; for his mentors, and for many other characters, this is a much harder transition from the world they grew up in. And, of course, we have Sasuke... who is, in many ways, Naruto's opposite: he started off with his feelings informing his decisions very strongly, and has steadily become more detached from those feelings, with his actions sometimes directly contradicting what he appears to be feeling. The dynamic these two have is wonderful, including both external actions and internal changes. Can't wait for you two to see the rest of this arc. It's amazing.

I can't really give my opinions on most of this yet, but denial is the typical response to Kakashi and Team Choza getting molly whopped by Pain. Ino's clan does have some really fascinating jutsu and her dad is a badass, IMO.
