On the topic of content for this show, I posted it previously so: "In terms of content there are 3 seasons of psycho pass with season 1 being the longest at 22 episodes season 2 the shortest with 11 episodes and season 3 only has 8 episodes but they're 45mins long rather than 24 like the others so its technically 16 episodes. There are 3 movies that were all well recieved and the watch order is basically: Season 1 Season 2 Psycho-Pass: The Movie Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System (second movie) Season 3 Psycho-Pass: First Inspector" Edit: to be more clear, Sinners of the system is actually 3 60minute "movies" so 180minutes total On the topic of age Akane is indeed 20 at the start of season 1 which is kinda young for this sorta job but that's why everyone keeps referring to her being on the fast track etc. On the topic of the system vs the mentally ill. I don't much like defending the system but an alternate PoV on the topic: They're not killing people who are mentally ill, they're killing people who killed people. Therapy and medication are available in this world. The first guy in episode 1 was told he needed therapy but ran instead and even then it was just paralyse and take him in for therapy. Even as he tortured/raped a girl the first shot of the Dominator was paralyse. It wasn't until he was unresponsive to paralyse because of lots of drugs that it turned lethal (you could say no other choice) not to mention he was actively trying to shoot an inspector/enforcer when he got shot. While I think mentally ill people need help and the vast VAST majority of mentally ill people aren't violent. When you get to the level of Mido (Avatar guy), yes it started because of mental illness but he's also now a serial killer who's killed 3 people rendered them down and flushed them down the toilet. What else can they do? Regardless of your answer to that question I think this is one of the important topics/themes of this anime - what is Justice, what is Just. So I'm enjoying the conversation/opinions :) Into episode 6: I chuckled at the "becomes mean girls in 3,2,1" you weren't wrong technically but you didn't realize how mean this girl is XD. I also did the math for you Evil girl is 2 years and 6months younger than Akane, making her 17-18 so basically high school senior. I think its implied the girl she preyed on was from a younger class. So not only is she abusing the fact the girl was scared and vulnerable - because of her home life - but she then is also the older upperclassman and the most popular and beautiful girl at the school. All this to grab this girl who is probably just shocked that such an "amazing" person would notice them. And that scary enough is a pretty realistic way bad people get access to victims. On the topic of Ko's obsession. You have to remember, he's been hunting for 3 years and as far as we know this is the first time he MIGHT be right. Imagine how that is to Gino, seeing your friend decending into the madness of obsession. We don't know how many times in those 3 years Ko has gone on wild goose chases against a ghost how many times was he wrong? How many times did it happen before Gino lost faith in him?
