33: You can pretty much watch this intro from now on, but as always take the scenes with a few grains of salt as this one does feature non-canon visuals that haven't and won't happen. This is also the point where you are free to watch the very first Shippuden Movie as you please. You're actually pretty much clear up to episode 56, outside of a title or two. Love the little moments with the B characters making their soft reintroductions. Personally, since he's my favorite I like how it's showing Naruto and Shikamaru together. Naruto just straight up wants Shikamaru on his team, which is kind of a big deal for shinobi, and Shikamaru would be totally down if he wasn't already assigned to something important. You actually see some real mutual trust and friendship there, while also seeing where they've both matured...and haven't.

34: Leaf Village "politics" is kind of fascinating honestly, and the introduction of Danzo and The Foundation is kind of where it starts as you see. Definitely not something I was expecting to show up at this point on my first trip through the series, but it's in line with the more complicated exploration of mature topics in Shippuden as opposed to OG. As you said, there's more focus on older characters' POV, which allows for more nuance and depth to the Village.

Figures when I return from my hiatus you guys get introduced to Danzo. So you are aware my feeling for that vapid shell of a human being eclipses Tat's feeling for Viren a couple of times over.

I didn’t get a chance to talk about this but this previous arch was one of my favorite archs in the show. The opening fights are each engaging in their own special ways. The fight between Sasori, Sakura and Granny Chiyo is one of my personal favorite fights in shippuden. First, It is two support characters pooling their support abilities to form a single fighter greater than the sum of their parts. Second, there are just so many neat abilities thrown around in such a fast amount of time. Third, Sakura gets a chance to actually prove herself as a fighter. Fourth, Granny Chiyo being a g. I could talk about this all day. On top of that Sakura’s characterisation is the best it has ever been. And I am not talking about how she fights, I am talking about her support abilities being on full display. Some people might complain about Garra coming back to life but I think it is earned. Thematically Granny Chiyo sacrificing herself makes sense. On top of that Garra being reborn with everyone surrounding him is a powerful image.
