Well that was quite the start to Vol 8. Cinder having flashbacks to her youth where she was a lowly servant only to come back to Salem to be reminded that she is a lowly servant. Yang becoming more aggressive and blaming Ruby despite not taking responsibility for telling Robin about the tower causing Ironwood to loose trust in them. Then to top it all off Ironwood kills a civilian to get his point across. This will be fun.

Also is it just me or does anyone else suspect that Penny is gonna get hacked by Watts considering that the intro shows him scheming and there is a Green outline of penny with vibrant eyes chaning to a red outline with soulless eyes.

I don't have First so I can't watch it at the moment so here is my two cents going into it. After I caught up to RWBY most of the discussions I have heard have been about its criticisms. It makes me discouraged and I sometimes feel like I forget why I like it. But whenever I put on the show I usually remember why.

As to the opening scene of the girl scrubbing the floor, it has to be connected to Cinder because right after is when it cuts to Cinder's Grimm arm scratching the seat & sounding similar to the scrubbing. I may not have seen anyone mention it before, but I think the Salem/Cinder relationship is an evil/corrupted version of Cinderella & her Fairy Godmother. That leads me to the conclusion that the very first scene of Volume 8 is Cinder before she met Salem & started down this dark path.

Yeah i believe the girl is a cinder backstory scene that we hopefully get alot of this season, yes james finally lost it and now i see him as a threat that needs his army and other authority privileges taken for awhile, i loveee this volumes animation including the op idk about the song tho but ive only heard it 2 times so far, and oooh boy am i excited this is one of my all time fav shows and their animation keeps getting better and better

It took me a few watch throughs but then it hit me....Salem wants to use the Relic of Knowledge/Jinn to find out where Ozpin hid the Beacon Relic because they still can't find it on their own....the scene Salem is looking at on her viewscreen is occupied Beacon, with Grimm still dominating its skies.

Monstro (the Whale Grimm) looks like it was created with an upsized Seer Grimm as its template....it's bulbous head glows and conveys visual information the way the Seer Grimm do. Whales don't have gills----but then again they don't fly either and it's a creepy-ass Grimm so *shrug*...it's an organic flying carrier like Moya from Farscape.
