At the age of four Itachi fought in the third great ninja war. To say that it affected him is an understatement.

Not gonna lie, part of the reason I mentioned the etymology of Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu was just to hear Kat butcher the words. 😂 Nouns lacking inflection is one of the reasons Japanese is such hard language for English speakers to pick up. It may help to go back and watch a few episodes in Dub just to hear the words you have trouble with in an accent your used to. Or not I’m more than happy to hear you butcher Jiraya until the end of Shippuden.

Sasuke is seven in the flashback and Itachi is 13. There's usually a 5-year age gap between them, with the exception of the two months between their birthdays, so currently Sasuke is 13 and Itachi is 18. <p></p><p></p><p>The move where Itachi pokes Sasuke on the forehead is often misunderstood as him shooing Sasuke away. But Itachi is actually moving his fingers in the opposite direction, so he's actually beckoning Sasuke to come closer. It's a hand gesture used in Japan which means "come here." If you're not Japanese, then you're unlikely to recognize it, and it looks like Itachi is saying "go away" instead. </p>

To clarify, Tsukuyomi doesn't actually stop time it creates a powerful genjutsu which slows down your perception of time.

Yes, Tsunade was the blonde girl doing the bell test with Orochimaru, Jiraiya, &amp; the Third Hokage in those flashbacks. They formed a team together back in their younger years. As for Itachi, he wasn't distressed about having to face Jiraiya. He was actually fatigued. That's why he mentioned finding a place to rest to Kisame as they fled. It's not clear how soon this encounter is after facing Kakashi, Asuma, &amp; Kurenai, but it's likely within a 24-48 hour time period. Even for someone like him, the Mangekyo Sharingan is taxing for Itachi if he has to use both abilities in quick succession like he did here (Tsukuyomi on Sasuke &amp; Amaterasu for escape). Also, there is more to the story of the Uchiha Massacre that doesn't come out until way into Shippuden. Plus, the Sasuke/Itachi relationship is a big piece of Shippuden's story as well.
