Not a lot i can say about the movie so far until its done, so i shall say nothing except that i am glad you are enjoying it. What i have seen of SAO: Alternative Gun Gale Online (i have not finished it), it is very good. It is a true side story and follows a whole new cast of characters. Also of import, they announced over the weekend another spin off anime adaptation of Sword Art Online Progressive. The novels of which at least cover the floors of aincrad in linear order from Kirito's perspective. if you remember from the first season, we start on floor 1...then it skips to somewhere in the 20s, then up to the 50s, then straight to 74-75. This was because the story Reki was out to write was the "Sword Dance of Black and White" ie Asuna and Kirito and the events of 74/75. But had to get some worldbuilding done first. But later he came back and started filling in those holes, telling what happened in "Progression" fashion, as if it were a game, and they were progressing through content. One thing i noted in the very limited amount of information we got from Aniplex on this, was the very short trailer only shows Asuna, and the little blurb they accompanied with it, is also an Asuna quote from the first book. So they might be doing Asuna focus on this. But like i said, they have only given very limited information about this and no dates, so i could very well be wrong on that. Also of note, Season 3 changes the art style, just a bit. I think its the same studio, but they have some new toys and computers and are showing off a bit. You will see pretty early in the show.
