Damn but that Pillar speech and the Sensei/Student progression gets me every time. One of my most favorite speeches in all of anime.

Excited to hear that next week is Naruto week. That should wrap up this current arc & maybe start up the next. The Reanimation Jutsu was originally created by the 2nd Hokage. Orochimaru does take over a person's body. It's called Living Corpse Reincarnation. The face changing is similar to a glamour/shedding a snake skin. The female face was the actual face of his current body. There is a way to speed up his acquisition of all known jutsu. It's the reason why he wants to take Sasuke's body as his next vessel. When he does that, he'll be able to use all of Sasuke's abilities - including the Sharingan, which is what Orochimaru covets most. Remember that Haku said that one can truly become strong when protecting something precious. That's why Hiruzen is willing & able to pull off this final jutsu.

So it's still a good while before you reach that point, but since you bring it up I'd definitely recommend watching/reacting to the filler arc with Asuma's backstory in Shippuden when you reach it. It does have some mixed cannon elements included that will tie into proceeding events and add context. Obviously it has non-canon elements as well being filler, but it's actually a worthwhile arc with plenty to enjoy within. There is plenty of skippable filler though outside of this arc and some other notable exceptions.

Hashirama's wood style is one of my favorite techniques in Naruto. It is truly a thing to behold. Fun Fact: According to legend he used that very jutsu to create the forest that surrounds the village. Anyway, if the next week of goes to episode 80 exactly then it will have been very well placed. Unfortunately that will also mean that you are about to go through a lot of stress in a very small amount of time. Sidenot: for the sake of clarity are you watching the Dub or Sub? I know the netflix subtitles are the same either way so I get a bit confused.
