There are OVAs...but not REALLY. Most of the OVAs for SAO are just comedy reference episodes, they aren't really....needed for anything. ie like Kirito sitting at a desk ala the Tonight show interviewing characters from the show and playing clips from the show proper. they aren't very memorable. And i THINK can only be found on the DVDs. Ordinal Scale is the only movie. So once you are past it you are free to watch season 3 and 4. One important moment about the crying scene with Asuna's mom. The system detects that you are sad, and thus your character cries. Its much harder to hide your emotions in the virtual world. It doesnt get mentioned much on the show, but it does come up fairly often in the books. The picnic at the end was at the place in the first episode where asuna said they should bring the others in the spring. Episode 25 is ACTUALLY Episode 14.5, which netflix put at the end for some reason. But as mentioned previously, this was just a recap of the first 14 epsiodes. And just some timeline stuff. The funeral was held in April 2026, Ordinal Scale is set about a month later. Season 3 starts in June. Also of note is the Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online series. Which takes place concurrently with the events of SOME of season 2. But its a whole new set of characters on their own thing. So yeah you can watch that whenever. (at least i think i have not finished it yet, so if somoene else has, please fill in the blanks here, i dont know if it spoils anything from other things.)

Oh and Netflix doesnt have season 3. Crunchyroll/VRV, and Funimation all do though (Hulu might as well i havent checked.)

There are 2 extra editions which I guess are the same as OVA's on Crunchyroll. They have it between seasons 1 and 2. Funimation and Netflix do not carry it. Season 4 is just about finished. I just watched episode 21 so I guess there are 3 or 4 more episodes left and I think that's it for the series

Can someone let me know if any streaming services have the SAO movie?

MasterAries7

looks like Amazon has it (if you buy or rent it) and Hulu appears to have it for stream, (apparently you can rent or buy it on steam of all places too), thats all i can find so far

for now at least, Reki has written about six more books past the current arc (i say at least because i dont know exactly how far into the current arc we are at the end of season 4)
