If you draw traditionally like me, i recommend to start your doodle with h pencils till you get a shape as you want

obviously we will have errors and will have to erase a lot, how many of you have done a mess with your paper or even broke it, what i recommend in this cases is to use tracing paper, to do any corrections you need to do and not damage the original paper, that way you work like in digital apps, in layers, and with this paper you can erase a lot because tracing paper is quite resistant to eraser

once you have it if u have a light tablet, transfer it to the original paper and do the final lineart sketch, if you don't have one simply use an transparent acrylic sheet or a glass with any light below so you can trace it

i usually use this when i'm not convinced on the position of the character and want to try another so i can test without erasing the original idea
