Calvin wiggles his fingers, deftly rearranging Aaron like a set of keys until the little man is once again dangling in the open air. Stretching open the waistband of his shorts with his free hand, he holds Aaron just above the dark opening, swinging him to and fro so that the little legs dip in and out of shadow.

“So step sixteen is simple. Remind him of his place, and put him there.”

He drops Aaron out of sight and lets the waistband snap back into place with a thwack.
