Hi everyone! Time to drop some dates for our scheduled streams, plus let you all know about the changes this Patreon will be undergoing in the month to come. I hope you all managed to enjoy the summer as much as is possible given the state of the world at the moment. I'm personally looking forward to fall and cozy times, but still missing friends and family very much. Anyways, to the news:

Monday 21st at 8PM - Pinup Painting

PATREON CHANGES

I talked about this in previous news posts, but I've been pushing myself too hard to get perks delivered every month for years now, and finally decided I need to change that. So this month is officially the last one for regular sketchbook and pinup perks, and I'll retire the new Fancy Feline tier because it was way too much for me on top of my current workload. I'll otherwise leave the content archived so people can still access them whenever they like. I'm sad to stop making these things regularly, but I will still do them on occasion, just without the mega-burnout and not every single month. As an additional perk, I'm planning on having more request streams every now and again. This will give more people the chance to get their character drawn, plus they're just fun and the sketches I make can hopefully substitute the sketchbooks I used to do!

So to summarize the changes:

  • Retiring the Fancy Feline tier
  • Removing regular sketchbook perk
  • Removing regular pinup perk (will do some on occasion)
  • Additional perk of a request stream, alternating every other month
  • All comic content and other perks will continue as usual
  • All past content for both pinups and the sketchbook will remain accessible

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to let me know! I was very nervous to do all this. I hate feeling as though I'm letting people down, especially you guys who have supported me for so long. I think though that moving the patreon into something a bit easier on me will be good and allow for some creative development and exploration, which could mean different kinds of content anyway.

Question on the request stream. A lot of times I don't have the time/chance to watch streams across the patreons I back, will there be a method to submit requests for backers who may not have time to watch the stream? That would also be helpful for backers in other time zones.

I'm going to miss the sketch book, but if it makes it easier on you then I can deal with it. Question: you said this is the last month for regular sketch book. Does that mean we get one last request before it's retired for good? And that reminds me, you still haven't posted the second part of July's sketch book requests. Otherwise I'm still happy supporting your comics and other projects.

I'd always rather watch an artist do something new that they're excited about than something familiar that's starting to wear on them! I've really enjoyed the sketch streams I've been able to attend. Thank you for doing them at various times of day, too - there's almost always been at least one per month at a time that works for me. .

I hope you find something that energizes your passion. I can understand what you are feeling. I am the GM of a store and the passion can dwindle. But you have to find a balance between work and personal life. If you work too much and it is eating at your personal life, you lose that passion very quickly. So make sure to take some personal time to recharge your batteries.

These changes sound great to me! I do love your sketchbook, but not so much that I'm ok with you burning out over it. I'm so glad and relieved to see you thinking about your health, too!

Yeah, it is exactly like that! I find too that with art and creative things, it's important to branch out and try new stuff, because it can get really stagnant otherwise. There are things I wanted to try but couldn't with my workload. One of them is more traditional paintings - I've always wanted to do 100 small paintings and sell them so people can get a handmade original and I can get some traditional practice. I might be able to do that in the future :)

Thanks, I'm so glad you're enjoying the streams too! I try to have different times so that time zones don't get in the way completely, glad to hear that works ^_^

I'll post the remaining sketchbook from July this month too! If you want to get one last request in for the sketchbook, now's the time :P I've been doing it a bit more freeform as a last hurrah but happy to take suggestions!

Of course! I post the form and everyone can fill it out, whether they can attend the stream or not. The form goes up early in the month before the streams take place. Lots of the requests I've done were for people who weren't present, so (weird to say this cuz it sounds like a classroom lol but) attendance isn't mandatory ;)

I think it´s good that you change those things before it is to late. ^^ When the Fancy Feline tier goes does it automatic change to the Fetching Fox tier?
