Eric it’s beautiful that you take time with him!! You guide him and patiently let him explore! He is a fine haired cat… I’m sure you brush him. He will mat easily especially in his armpits and underbelly. Which is extremely painful to them because cats have sensitive thin skin. You might find this helpful… This is what I did… Use a metal comb or wire brush intended for a little dog and GENTLY and I repeat very gently, brush him ever so lightly. That is the one thing I found that helped my cat not get so many mats. A lot of people will tell you it’s dangerous because the teeth are sharp… But if you just sweep it over their body not digging into the skin… It will be a blessing to keep him mat free 🧡🤍🧡🤍🧡🤍🐈
