It’s actually just been a really crummy emotional day overall. The wind ripped it right out of the top hardware and I’m up there with 50 mph gust of wind and dust one way, and semi trucks flying by 80 miles an hour refusing to move over a Lane Lake required in the state of Kansas. I finally just gave up and drove until I got the first rest area. Then I called Kansas highway patrol and ask them what I’m supposed to do in that situation and they said just leave it. It’s like losing a hubcap or wheel cover. As long as no one else is injured, you are not required to go retrieve it. I just feel like Kansas really tried to break me today. It’s just an awning after all. So I’m trying to keep a positive attitude. But I didn’t feel like boondocking so I am at a campground to regroup

Oh man that's so fucking frustrating...I'm sorry dude... It fucking sucks. I probably would have just put the parts inside if you could and try to reattach them later... It's hard finding those parts! I'm still looking.

Awe…I’m so sorry this happened. Boy, Mother Nature can be very scary. I hope you and the kitties are okay. Hang in there. This is just a curve ball. Albeit a nasty one!

Sorry you're having such a rough time. The campground sounds like a good idea. Sometimes we just need to stop and regroup.

Looks like a trip to the west coast RV recycling is necessary

We drove across Az and NM yesterday. It was horrible even in a car. Sorry this happened to you

At least the highway patrol was reasonable about it. Still, it's a bummer.
