Just a quick sample look at part of the video I was working on today. This was a fun day and these hot magma mounds were incredibly cool to see up close!

Great video.

As cool as it is- probably not a good idea to be right over them. There is a reason Yellowstone has walkways around the mud pots. They are definitely geothermal. Glad you came across them but happier that you are safely editing the video!

Was you glowing green last night? Lol

I vote for “Better not go there.” Those things have to be toxic in one way or another. (Either bad to be around, or it’s really a free Mudpack Facial site. Lol)

It's called the Niland Geyser: https://www.sciencealert.com/a-bubbling-pool-of-mud-is-slowly-creeping-across-california-and-nothing-can-stop-it

I looked up some information on Sulfuric Acid gas and believe that the pain you experienced in your eyes was from your visit to the volcanic mud. I remembered from high school chemistry class that the painful burning and caustic effects of some chemicals are not immediate...they are not felt until they have soaked beneath the surface of the skin or through the mucus membrane...making removal of the caustic substance more difficult...YIKES!! You are so lucky to not experienced more damaging health effects from you exposure to the Sulfuric Acid fumes. You have your guardian angles working overtime! I am so glad they are doing an excellent job. The affects of the acid fumes could have been sooooooo much worse. (Yes, I definitely believe in guardian angles. I have had mine work overtime, too. )
