You going to give a stern talking too? Lol T

Yep just knock all the crap out of it and reinstall it. Screw the damn EPA. You won't believe how much extra power you have now.

Looks like it's "hammer time!" Or time to get hammered! Lmao!

If you already had Miranda Inspected why not just Replace the cat if it's bad with a pipe & run a Tuner to spoof the check engine light? I bet Miranda could breath better without a catalytic converter restricting all that air flow. Just straight piped all the way from the manifold back to your Factory mufflers & then later down the road when you can actually find a Factory Cat replace it then when it's time to pass inspection again.

I hear they have been getting into storage facilities and stealing the catalytic converters a highly stollen item cutting them off with Sawzall

Dang little plugged 🤣

Deborah Harmse

Since I know nothing about catalytic converters, I’m going to guess this mess is bad news, but a reason for the problem.

Kent Kunzler

You have to be able to drive it, and since there are non available doing what you guys did will get you on the road again. It will also run much better with the clog knocked out. Probably should put a new one on backorder so that you can get it installed before your annual inspection is due. We live in a no inspection state, which is nice.

Rachel Pilgrim

Is that a permanent fix? LOL

Deborah Leppert

Don't you remember that old Pep Boys commercial . . . JUST KEEP HITTING IT ! ! 😅😂🤣🙃

Nicholas Ervin

This is what I was going to suggest.... Only problem will be you'll throw codes for Catalyst Below Threshold. Unless you tune the code out of the ECM with a programmer.

Nicholas Ervin

The county his RV is registered in doesn't do emissions on inspection. So he's all good there. Only thing is he'll get a CEL for Catalyst Below Threshold unless he tunes the code out of the ECM or uses a "O2 spoofing" dongle.

My dad used to say all those things did was cause problems……straight pipe it 😂

Nomadic Fanatic

Yup.... I thought you might ask. Can't I just find ONE catalytic converter for my 2012 Ford F53...? Lol. Hell no. Out of stock in this country, and every other country we searched. Robert spent an entire afternoon looking and can't find one either. It's getting the point where vehicles CAN'T stay on the road anymore because we just keep drawing out the covid supply games. We're just never going to get back to normal.

Nicholas Ervin

I'm assuming it's one of the little o2 dongle things I'm thinking of. I used one on a supercharged Pontiac Grand Prix that was HEAVILY modified; and had no issues. Worked as designed. 😜

Nicholas Ervin

It basically tricks the ECM into thinking that it's getting normal readings from the downstream O2 sensor.

Nicholas Ervin

Been doing this trick for almost 2 decades now. You are absolutely correct in the amount of power he'll have now. It's incredible how much one catalytic converter chokes the engine down; especially when clogged. And some of the newer vehicles have 2 and 3 cats on them!! It's ludacris!

Mickey B. Payne

Oh, That explains why the ONE time I took a car for a wheelbearing job...and while I'll never go back! My mechanic friend said, they probably did it wrong, and tried to beat it in. Florida PepBoys are scammed.
