Nothing so delicate as glass or so pure as silver survives long on the lower planes. That in itself makes this magic item a rarity. Held by a handle of claw-like fingers; this magic mirror grants its user the ability to see who is truly the fairest of them all.

This magic mirror has 1 charge and regains all expended charges daily at dawn.

Real Reflections. As an action while holding the mirror, you can speak its command word to expend a charge and cause it’s reflective surface to disappear for the next minute. For the duration, a creature that looks through the mirror while holding it has truesight out to 30 feet.

Optional Attunement: Envy. In return for accepting a minor task from a fiend, such as copying a friend’s dress sense or mimicking someone’s accent for a day, this item becomes enhanced and attuneable. While a creature is attuned, the item gains 1 additional charge which is also regained daily at dawn. You can expend any charges from the item to use either the Real Reflections or Envy properties.

While you hold the mirror you can, as a reaction after a creature within 30 feet of you that you can see makes an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check, expend a charge to capture the creature’s reflection in the mirror and store the result of that creature’s roll of the d20. You commit to using this reaction after the die is rolled. Until the end of your next turn, if the creature you mirrored takes damage, you take half as much damage as psychic damage. Once within the next minute, you can replace any attack roll, saving throw, or ability check you make with this stored die roll (no action required). The mirror can store one roll at once. After 1 minute, or if a new roll is stored, the old roll disappears.

Failure to complete the fiend’s assigned task within the allotted time results in forfeiture of one’s soul.

Rare variant: Increase the base number of charges to 3 (for 4 total upon attunement) and the range of truesight and Envy to 60 feet.

Very rare variant: Increase the base number of charges to 5 (for 6 total upon attunement), the range of truesight and Envy to 120 feet.
