Oh boy

HOORAY

Anonymous

Oh heck yeah.. but where’s the main video?

Anonymous

Those look nice in the thumbnail. How will they actually be....

Ricky C

Huge egg bag!

Anonymous

I'm about to just go and get the Sony 7506s

Ricky C

Start taking apart expensive headphones?

Anonymous

god damn that design is sexy as fuck

Anonymous

I love how quickly you ran out of good things to say about the beans

Anonymous

Now that’s good to know the talent that was AKG has been reborn as a new company- long term review definitely needed!

Anonymous

Honestly I was disappointed they weren't open backed

Anonymous

You just saved me a lot of money! really wanted the beans but I'll think I'll pass on them!

Anonymous

Thursdays (Friday for you) are now my favorite days.

Anonymous

I love how this video is coming right as I'm considering getting some AKG K240s for audio mixing. Shame to hear that they're a shell of their former selves right now tho :/

Chewie

Oh man, this explains everything! I was actually going to ask you when you mentioned your K712s a while ago but didn't get round to it! I bought a pair of K702s last year and they've already broken twice and sound... OKayG. Turned out they were made in China instead of Austria and now I know, it's a Zombie brand!

Anonymous

Just ordered some akg k371s. Hoping they're decent for both casual listening and mixing and recording. Going to use them primarily with my lgv50.

Anonymous

That's a high quality egg bag if i've ever seen one mate

Anonymous

I had seen the FiiO M15 making the rounds in audio and techie channels and was wondering if you'd get a go round since FiiO is aware of your channel. I can't wait for your full impressions of the omega nugget; it's in the price range of vicarious experience only because that is an apocalyptic price point. Still would be cool to see if it really is an ultimate portable player.

Anonymous

Those things are actually gorgeous it's gotta be said

Chewie

Consider Beyerdynamics, they make fully isolating closed-back DT-770s which should still be made in Germany

Anonymous

That build quality looks REALLY good, I can't lie. The memory foam as well, good lord! Now all I wanna see is Austrian Audio release some open-back headphones...

Anonymous

I just became a patreon and idk why it took so long to become one this after show stuff is great.

Anonymous

dang, I was hoping they'd be good for casual listening because that design is slick as hell

Anonymous

dude getting 2 stickers is an absolute steal i cant believe they would do that. thats the real reason theyre so expensive, the extra sticker

Anonymous

First the Raycons and now the beans. I'm glad you found the Taotronics, picked up the SoundLiberty 94's and have no regrets. Great little buds that get the job done and didn't break the bank.

Josh Dick

Sir Dank, it wasn’t boring at all, I loved it! Curious if you’d consider publishing your list of test tracks as a Patreon post just for kicks since it seems like your list has a lot of overlap with mine (Bruno Mars, Steely Dan, EW&F.) Always on the lookout for well-produced music I might not be aware of.

Anonymous

an egg bag that can hold a full dozen

Anonymous

Good thing I couldn't afford the beans. Rather go to Coles and pay $1 for better beans than this haha. And im a Samsung fangirl 😱

Anonymous

Absolutely love the nerding out over headphones. Never in a million years thought I'd see you covering Austrian Audio's.

Anonymous

AKG? This video had so much heart it might as well be EKG.

Anonymous

Actually listened to this video with the good ol' 7506's, I like them for casual listening but over the years I've set up an eq profile to tune them justttt a bit.

Anonymous

duude i need to get $330

Anonymous

the only people I consider evil in the world are the people who watch the patreon videos without paying.

Anonymous

i bought a pair of Kz ES4's after the raycon vid and they have turned me into an IEM fanboy

Anonymous

its truly a honor to support such a legend! Awesome video as always...

Anonymous

How do, new subscriber here. Love your audio-focused stuff.

Anonymous

E G G B A G

Anonymous

Please, please do a video on the Sony WF-1000XM3. they are the best wireless earbuds I have ever heard and you can get them on sale for cheaper than the base model airpods

Anonymous

That really is a massive egg bag

Quickplay!

I feel they may put the extra quickstart in the bag for the people who check em, as if I wasnt aware of the spare, I'd completely ignore the bag

Anonymous

I wasn't aware of having a listening headphone and a balancing headphone. What do you do with balancing headphones? Like, what's the workflow? Legit curious.

Chewie

I'd be curious about those, or alternatively to hear what Dank thinks about the WH-1000XM3... nice distinctive product names there Sony!

Anonymous

I wouldnt mind you doing sponsorships at all, though i get its personal preference. Anyway thanks for the new videos mate!

Anonymous

They look absolutely gorgeous, great video as always!

The Ferret

Hearing you fanboy is never boring. Keep being awesome.

Anonymous

Please try the Sony earbuds, the case is horrible in the pocket but they are truly amazing

Anonymous

I love good audio tech, this is the opposite of "boring".

Anonymous

For me, the perfect role for these seems to be a replacement for those beats pro's vocalists always tend to bring to the studio, that or a more premium feeling alternative to dt770's. also having a look around their site their oc818 seems super interesting. like a hybrid between a c414 and something like a Neumann TLM 103

Anonymous

i’ll buy the beans off you for $20

ChrisFratz

It wasn't boring, I like seeing people geek out about their hobbies. Speaking of headphones, I just ordered some Grado SR60Es, they'll be coming in next week because they're currently out of stock on amazon. I'm excited and can't wait to try them becuase they're gonna be my first "audiophile" headphones. (Not counting my Sony WF-1000XM3s)

Anonymous

Not boring! I really like these types of videos, your take on audio is really laid back and refreshing. Just buy random shit youre interested in and make a video about it, I'll always be keen.

Anonymous

So what are the best “casual listening” headphones that you’ve come across?

Anonymous

Never apologize for audiophile nerdy headphone vids, love it!!

Anonymous

I’m also curious what he has to say, but for me it’s gotta be Sennheiser HD 600/650/6xx/58x (depending your precise preferences). Can listen to those all day and they’re reasonably priced (in the audio world anyway)

Anonymous

i paid $1 so i can have something to do during online class. best $1 ever

Anonymous

Well.. You video about the beans actually resumed pretty well my journey through the Buds Live.. I was really happy with the Buds 1st gen, decent quality, nice fit. And I was super excited for the buds live. Boy oh boy, the second I put them on, I was really sad, like legit sad. Thank you for confirming my disappointment, great video as usual though!

Greentext Guy

As much as I enjoy the videos just for patrons you should post this to the YouTube channel to help the lads get some publicity. New company and all

Anonymous

Well, NOW I'm curious of your opinion on the Neumann NDH 20!

Anonymous

Your ability to inject genuine excitement and emotion into simple voiceovers of products, procedures, and processes is truly remarkable. Most youtubers need a facecam to keep interest but I think it would almost be too much with your delivery.

Anonymous

congrats on 300k!

Guillaume DC

Keep up the great work man 👏🏻

Anonymous

This wasn't boring at all! I love listening to other people who get as excited and thrilled about things as I do + you taught me something new. You got me into iPods and they have now become another little interest of mine that I absolutely love going on about. Thanks so much for doing these videos, it's always a good day when you upload something new!

Anonymous

You are my favorite YouTuber! You got me into hifi headphones

Anonymous

My headphones of choice are the JVC HA-S30BT. They aren't studio ones and they are dirt cheap but I've used them for years and only just had to get a replacement pair. I'd love to hear what you think of them one day :-)

Anonymous

In awe at the size of that egg bag. Absolute unit

Paul Douglas

Not boring at all, useful info for my audio layman mind & fun to hear your enthusiasm 👍🏻

Anonymous

Awesome video! Looking forward to your final review. :-D (BTW, that fiio M15 be thiccccc. I am in love.)

Anonymous

I was gonna suggest that snazzy pod, nice to see you already have it.

Anonymous

i dont get how this works when do names get updated on the list? im still learning how to use this site,,

Anonymous

The audio to your videos is gonna be 8K HDR 240Hz somehow

Anonymous

I’ve never used AKG headphones and I’ll never have a need to, but I’m really glad that the engineers have started their own company to continue to provide the equipment that musicians (and anybody else) need

Anonymous

If they are made in Austria, all the text should be upside down

Anonymous

As someone that owns Audio-Technicas that screw in cable is a godsend. And a real worry that it'll fail quickly because it's super fun to fiddle with.

Anonymous

I used to work for the Australian Harman Pro distributor (so JBL Pro, AKG Pro, Soundcraft, DBX, Lexicon, etc), and used to stan AKG something chronic (admittedly, their mics and "pro" headphones are /still/ good post Samsung takeover), but I've noticed that the companies started by engineers after the Samsung takeover (think Austrian Audio and Kali Audio) have essentially taken the "spirit" of what made heritage/innovative brands such as AKG and JBL Pro popular and made lightning strike twice. Very good gear.

Anonymous

You should do a comparison between the BEANS and the Huawei Freebuds 3. I've heard that they also have noise cancelling in an 'open back' design. :)

Anonymous

Those cups look so insanely soft! Screw pillows, just get me a heap of those please

Anonymous

ngl i'm vaguely offended by your calling the Sony MDR-7506's coiled cable crappy i absolutely love the thing i can walk around my entire room with them plugged my sitting laptop (still absolutely love you too btw)

Anonymous

Please review a proper bootleg shuffle https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/123535906402

Anonymous

Your “boring” patreon video is the one that made me sign up. So it’s done you well!

Anonymous

i would like to see more reviews of earbuds/headphones made by less known brands. UiSii makes some interesting earbuds.

Anonymous

Your after show vids and your main vids are all great! Also, I think you are slowly turning me into an audiophile haha. Keep up the good work, DankPods!

Anonymous

I would love to see a video on all the vintage headphones you own. even if its a Patreon Exclusive I feel like that would be a really good watch.

Anonymous

I've been meaning to join your patreon for a while now and yknow what? It was worth that wait 100%

Anonymous

I have been in the market for a decent set of cans. I stumbled across planar driver headphones. Do you have any thoughts or opinions? https://www.amazon.com/HE4XX-Magnetic-Over-Ear-Open-Back-Headphones/dp/B07YBWT8PK

dankpods

Some of the best built headphones ever, amazing. Very specific sound tho, very vocal forward

dankpods

Nah it’s cool to find serious close backs, also these seem like they are for actual recording so you’d want isolation

dankpods

Not awful, but very vocal forward with little sub bass. But they are clean, you can hear all the parts of the song which makes sense with work headphones! Heres to more of their stuff 🍻

dankpods

Cheers Clare! There will be heaps but I like to mix up the vid topics a little bit week to week

dankpods

You want flat and balanced for mixing so you know what you’re making, if you mix music with Beats by Dre you will make really thin sounding music. Because you will think your music is bassy but its your headphones. Listening headphones tend to have more bass and more sparkle which sounds nicer

dankpods

Listening wise I prefer my DT770’s, these really have a specific role kinda sound!

dankpods

Don’t worry they will get their shine in the sun, but takes time for me to sit with them and actually review them

dankpods

nope, coil cables suck haha when you have more than 3 pairs with them they begin to form a mass that can never be untangled. Too heavy when coiled and too springy when stretched, just make it detatchable with a short and long cable!

Chicken adobo

I own them and a few other cans I know Im not dank pods but I try a lot of audio equipment out and do a decent bit of exploring and suggesting to people headphones. I know Im not Dank pods but if you want I can help you out starting with what kind of music do you listen to and you intend to do much gaming with them if not what is your general use case?

Chicken adobo

I love AKG been a long time fan check out the akg k371 and k361 they are new akg though. also not a big fan of the screw in cable style

Anonymous

When you showed these on the beans vid, I wasn’t paying attention and thought that you called them ostrich audio.

knedit knedit

Hey danko, would love to see you review some of the Anker Soundcore Liberty stuff. the smallest ones are about the size of the raycons

Anonymous

I came for the fanboying of iPods, but I’m staying for the fanboying of headphones (and the stories of Frank). But nah, I love your stuff. I was wondering what you were gonna do when you ran out of iPods, and I’m loving it just the same. Once you get into the Lossless music, it’s just a rabbit hole, and damn man, you’re making it one hell of a rabbit hole. Like, never heard of Tiio before, but now I’m seriously considering getting one.

Anonymous

hey dank weird question but i was rewatching the worst dock video and was wondering if you still had one of the terrible speakers from it, if so can you please blow it up with the Mojo

Anonymous

I like the audiophile stuff

Anonymous

Dank. Where's my Shrek green dollarydoo

Anonymous

Fully hooked on the audiophile stuff. More of this please.

Anonymous

You single handedly sent me down the rabbithole on audiophile stuff. Congrats man, I'm gonna be broke haha

Anonymous

I agree with both above

Anonymous

Im listening to this with my akg´s k240 :)

ibadgrammar

i paid 1 dollar see this review

Anonymous

Well, I'm now buying an AKG headset now... damn you Dankpod!

Anonymous

You think 25ohms is low? My sennies are 18, when I plug them into my old ass hk amp its a little scary

Anonymous

Did you end up doing a follow up? How did the testing on iPods go?

Anonymous

Old mate's always dissin' muh beans. I legitimately use them nearly every day... I can't use buds that go deep into the ears. I've even tried the comply foam tips, they still give me an earache after a few minutes.

Anonymous

I'd really like to try these, as an Austrian it has been such a shame what happened to AKG and I really hope Austrian Audio continues strongly!

Anonymous

AKG. The compan I never heard of till I got the beans and learned so much about it from you. Best thing: Austria is one of my neighbour countrys🤣

Anonymous

AKG are dead??? 😥

Anonymous

Should I buy AKG K72s or Samson SR850?

Anonymous

They still exist but are a brand of Samsung now. Development is somewhere in eastern Europe. When the AKG office in Vienna closed back in 2016, 22 former employees of OG AKG founded Austrian Audio GmbH in 2017. The new office is 10 minutes by foot away from the old one

Anonymous

I actually recently bought a pair, and I use them purely for recreation. Everything is super clean, and once you burn them in a bit the fun starts to come through, plus the noise cancelling and fit is just superb. Not only that, all games I play basically get natural surround no issues, best I've ever heard game sounds. If you got some coin lying around Its worth a snag.

Anonymous

you mentioned these being expensive but not by how much. just how many freedom eagles does this chew up?

Anonymous

Apparently the K371 from samsung/akg is actually pretty decent as a monitoring headphone... a little too much bass IMO but who knows I bought it but I might refund for the beyers because I just need it for monitoring

Anonymous

You just know there is a little dissapointment when Wade after he listened started talking about the fluffy pillows :-)

Anonymous

I wish he had gone back to these with a more detailed video, maybe get some of the rest of the range too.
