Because touma can't block them. The momentum of the objects would still hurt him or even kill him. His power only works on contact. So a steel beam shooting at high speed isn't something he can do anything about. As for accelerator coming at him with super speed, yeah, he can touch him, but the momentum and force would still hit. If he tried to block, he'd die.
