OMG Y'ALL I MADE A MUSIC VIDEO!

Ok, I just did the sets and costumes and makeup but that's still really exciting!

I've been in a few music videos, but this is my first time working behind the scenes. I've always loved music videos as an art form so it was incredibly satisfying to be such a big part of  the look and feel of this video.

It was also my first creative collaboration since before lockdown and I feel incredibly lucky that it went this well. Shooting was the first time in I-don't-know-how-long that I've felt prepared and on top of things. And the first time in idkhl that I felt like I impressed people I didn't really know.

I'm my own harshest critic so I'm not *completely* happy with the final results. I think a professional makeup artist would have given everything a much more polished look. I did my best, but it's not my area of expertise and I don't have much experience doing makeup on anyone other than myself. I'm not totally happy with the set but I can't quite put my finger on why. It may just be that it looks too much like my messy bedroom, since it's almost entirely made up of stuff I brought from home.

I had a budget of zero, so I think I did pretty damn well. The costumes look great and I was lucky enough to be able to borrow pieces from the stock of a professional costume designer that I'm friends with.

I hope you all like the video and, if you like the song as much as I do, you can buy it and the whole album here

I really recommend the whole album if you're a fan of sadboy synth and/or grunge music. This is a pretty great combination of the two.
