I know I posted Mulder already but, hell, who wouldn't want to see him again?
On the off chance you haven't seen these on my various social media platforms, here are my Foxy Feds so far. I've really enjoyed working on them. It's pushed me into making more full illustrations, with backgrounds and lighting. Some of these were really made by the lighting.

It's also made it clear to me that drawing sexy dudes could be a good niche for me. And not just because I enjoy the hell out of it. There just really isn't that much male pin-up out there. I think there is, potentially, the same sized market for it. I think there's the same need for it. But our society is just so uncomfortable with the idea of men being sexually objectified those images are just incredibly rare.

There are exceptions, of course. Tom of Finland and beefcake images are great but also read as (or just *are*) incredibly gay. I'm never going to complain about that, but it's still sexy imagery that's designed for the male gaze (heh. See what I did there?)  And much of that imagery depicts a very narrow idea of what an attractive man looks like.
There's this old narrative about men being visually stimulated and women needing an emotional connection to be turned on and, TBH, I think that's just plain bullshit. I've seen women lose their shit over a hot person that they know nothing about just as much as I've seen men do it. But women have so much less *access* to visual stimulation that they pretty much *have* to rely on emotional stimulation to get turned on.

My aim with this genre of art is to depict both the visual and emotional appeal of the subject. I think I've been most successful with these next two drawings. Even if you don't know anything about Hotch you know who this is and have a pretty clear idea of what the sex is going to be like. This is someone stern. Someone who works too much. Someone who is always in control.

Similarly, even if you know nothing about Reid, you can tell that he's soft, shy, vulnerable, and nerdy as hell.

I've always thought that the original purpose of pin up art was to remind soldiers that there was still beauty in the world and that, if they lived through this ugly part, they might get a chance to fuck that beauty. And I think that's something that everyone needs now and again.

I started running out of steam so I took a break to do Mermay, but I still want to do a full calendar set of 12.
