Like most of my housekeeping, this will be done poorly, probably because I'm overthinking it, and definitely because I put it off to the last minute.

Patreon is going to start charging some patrons, some sales tax. Whom gets taxed and how much they're charged varies depending on where they live and the monetary value of the benefit they've signed up for.

As someone whose talents consistently fail to have monetary value, this will probably not apply to the benefits I offer. And if we're being completely honest, I've pretty consistently failed to follow up on any of the benefits I offer, with the exception of posting whenever I can cajole myself into thinking I have something interesting to say.

But patreon is in charge of determining monetary values and I worry they might think the benefits I all-too-optimistically offered *do* have monetary value and charge some of you something. My solution was to restructure the tiers and/or change their wording to better reflect what patrons are actually getting.
But I didn't really know what to write aside from "I will quietly love you and hold you in my heart and try to post interesting stuff as often. And I will frequently be wracked with guilt because I don't post enough."

That didn't strike me as terribly tempting. But I was sure I could come up with something better. But this sales tax thing starts tomorrow and my girlfriend and I just broke up. So my brain is like "I'm not writing ANYTHING smart. I don't care HOW much coffee you give me."

So, um, I'm just going to remove the text about benefits from each of the tiers for right now. I don't *think* it should change anything for you but, uh, let me know if it does. And let me know if you get charged with sales tax, because you shouldn't. And let me know if there are benefits you'd like to see in the new tiers, which I'll rewrite at a time in the future when my brain works again.

And, as always, thank you for supporting me. Even when I'm a disaster.
