How to Drink and Be Fabulous (Patreon)

It's not a perfect copy. But maybe that's good.

I recently pinned a bunch of his photos from Trash to a pintrest because I loved how much they captured a feel of those parties (the good parts, anyway.) And kind of the feel of that part of my life. World Famous Bob once said "When you're in your 20s all you know is how to drink and be fabulous." And I can't say she was wrong.

It's something I miss, but not really something I want to do anymore (with a few notable exceptions.) Drinking and dancing all night isn't as fun for me anymore (and not worth the recovery time.) And, while I wouldn't relive most of my 20s if you paid me, I miss being that person in those moments. So many nights of ridiculous fun are lost to dim recollections and a handful of photos. Many of these photos are especially poignant because they're of the show's producer, who died a few years ago.

I mostly did this sketch because I've been trying to get myself to draw more often and consistently, but I really like the way the sketchy quality of the pen adds to the chaotic and urgent feel of the drawing, while the black and white makes it faded and nostalgic. So I think I might do a series of them, not just from Nicky Digital's photos, but also photos from OC and Coyote Ugly. I don't know if I trust my abilities yet, but I might try and draw some memories that *weren't* photographed.
