I feel like u were underestimating how strong aurora is. She is almost as old as the originals. It wouldnt be that easy for Elijah to vamp over to her while she is pointing a gun at him. 1v1 fight without weapons she obviously wouldnt stand a chance. But possessing a weapon that can kill him, especially in the form of bullets.. he had to he careful.

One of the things I love about the original(the show) is that they don’t weakened the other characters just so the main characters can win. If this was TVD then somehow the main characters would had killed Aurora by the end of episode even though she was stronger, and older than them.

Correct, what makes the originals so strong is their age, what makes them dangerous is their immortality. With aurora being one of the few closest to the originals age out of any vampires in the world she’s one of the very few that stands a chance against any of them, let alone be successful to put a bullet in them. These arent TVD vampires that have only been alive a few weeks or couple hundred years. These are the oldest vampires aside from the originals.

Love that you pointed out how Elijah told nik to leave him to finish aurora for the good of the family. Everyone in the original family loves their family and will go to extremes to defend their family. But no one will go as far as Elijah to protect that family. Nik’s a close second behind but Elijah’s entire personality is protection of his family at all costs. In the past klaus would protect his family while simultaneously torturing them, Elijah sacrifices his entire immortal life to protect them and even when he does questionable things like when he daggered klaus and Rebekah’s was never out of pleasure and actually hurt him just the same, but he knows he has to even if he doesn’t like it and that’s why I love Elijah’s character so much! Also I do believe hayley is sired to hope. If you remember when Tyler turned the other werewolf with hopes blood he felt the need to protect hayley (aka hope) because he had been sired by her.
