Aurora is Crazypants ahahaha We get an insight that her faux betrayal really was a motivator to Klaus's paranoia and fear of abandonment....The proof is in the fact that in those flashbacks he s already a vampire and has that luggage from Mickael etc but he still was a genuinely compassionate and caring person- the heartbreak just started his inability to trust anyone

So I know this is probably gonna get me killed or whatever, but I actually prefer Klaus with Aurora to Cami... It intrigues me so much more. I love the idea of them, I love their chemistry. It's all just amazing to me. I really like the way Klaus looked at her when he first walked into the shop and saw her. You can see how much pain she caused him, just by that look. And then when they kiss, the way he just kinda slowly falls into the kiss, the hold she has on him is one of the most interesting things to me. The thing with Aurora that I think is important to consider is that her relationship with Tristan is very similar to Rebekah's with Klaus. I very much doubt he would've let her go find Klaus once the compulsion went away. Plus, there is still more to the story. Don't worry, you'll learn more soon. But yeah, think about it. Tristan was already bad with Aurora when they were human, he was already possessive and protective, so when they turned that would've just gotten worse. There is no way he would've given her the freedom to go seek out the man she loved. (Plus, the way the compulsion went away was when Elijah was first daggered, which was by the Five, not Klaus. So when the compulsion went away, Klaus was going through the Hunters Curse for a while, so it's probably good for Aurora that she stayed away for at least that long... Haha) But also, Tristan has had her locked up for a while at this point, and it's clearly not the first time. I don't think she ever really had the chance to go find Klaus until now. There's a lot to consider when it comes to her... It's really sad tbh. The whole story. Because Klaus is right, this is definitely what sent him down the path of becoming who became. Having the person he trusted with his deepest darkest secret throw it back in his face, completely breaking his heart and trust. Mikael and Esther had already broken him, sure, but he was still so sweet and kind and clearly not completely comfortable with what he was. He was still able to let someone in, and to love. But then she turned her back on him, called him evil and cruel even though he had NEVER been that way yet. (Killing Esther doesn't count, that wasn't out of cruelty, that was out of pain and a moment of anger...) So it set him down that road. And that explains why it was behind the Red Door. It's something that Elijah did that he felt guilty about, because despite what Klaus did to their Mother, he still loved him. I've actually recently been thinking about Klaus' journey to who he became. It's really interesting to me. Because for some reason, I don't think this would be enough to actually start the cruelty. Like, I get the feeling it IS what started him down that way, what made him more inclined to killing and all that. But then it was only about 100 years later that they encountered The Five and Klaus killed them all and got saddled with the Hunters Curse. I wouldn't be surprised if overall THAT was the last straw in his paranoia and all that. Mikael started it, Esther added to it, then Aurora made him unable to trust, and then finally he was cursed for 52 years with hallucinations that made him wanna kill himself after Rebekah's boyfriend daggered them all. If you really think about it, it makes sense. His love for Aurora broke him, her words really hurt him and so that put him on guard against love for himself, and then the man Rebekah fell in love with nearly killed them all and that put him on guard against her and the others falling in love. And I'm sure all those hallucinations didn't help. (I'm not saying that I think he was a saint those hundred years between these events, because in those flashbacks Elijah did make a comment about Klaus and Kol, so he was clearly already going down that path, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the thing that made him snap and what made him so controlling of his siblings...) Sorry for the overanalyses... Haha What I wonder about Elijah though, did he remember finding out Klaus killed Esther? I mean, he put the whole compelling Aurora thing behind the Red Door, so he didn't actually remember that until S2. But I wonder if the reason for it went behind the Door too, or if he actually knew that whole time that Klaus killed Esther... Elijah is honestly such an interesting character though. The idea of the things he couldn't handle remembering just going into this place in his mind so he doesn't remember is so interesting. And the fact that despite not remembering the things that go behind it, they still effect him. Like with Esther telling him to clean up because if he's clean no one will know what he is, that was a memory that went behind the door as it was so linked to killing Tatia, but that was something that stuck with him, the idea of being clean. And then with this, despite not remembering compelling Aurora, he likely felt the guilt for hurting Klaus and that added to why he stood by him all that time. Honestly, Cami looks very suspicious at this point from a Police perspective. She wasn't actually invited to the first Crime Scene by him, if I remember correctly. Vincent brought her. And then for her to continue looking into it in her own time, when she's not actually Police or anything like that is already suspicious on it's own. And then to find a victim and have only her finger prints on the body. It does look very suspicious, especially if you look at her family history like he said... It doesn't look good for her right now...

"Well girl, he has never mentioned you." took me out 😂😂 Loving these reactions But I agree. Aurora being with Klaus wouldn't have changed much. She's mentally ill & borderline psychotic, she would've done worse alongside Klaus.

Jay zay

To be fair Elijah never mentioned Celeste until the plot needed him to.

Addison

I love this episode Love your reaction.

My memory of season 3 is muddy, but I agree about Klaus and Aurora. She seems better suited to him. Of course Cami is an amazing character and has a connection with Klaus, but I could easily see them remaining as two people who care about each other and not necessarily needing to be lovers. There are many different bonds that don't have to be sexual to be important. That's how I see Cami and Klaus. While with Aurora, they feel like equals in love, something Klaus rarely has with anyone. Yes, there is the argument that someone like Aurora can never save him from his demons, but I disagree with the idea that the partner has to be everything - love Klaus, be as much his equal as they can, be careful around his trauma AND be responsible for changing him into a better person. Those could be different people, and when it comes to a more optimistic future, I think Klaus needs his daughter more than anyone.

Exactly. I think I actually prefer klaus and cami as friends, it feels more natural to me for some reason. And yeah, one person doesn’t have to be everything. He and Aurora have an amazing connection, and I really enjoy their scenes together. Their chemistry is great.

Nebulous Shooter

I like how Aurora in a previous episode jumps the same way she killed herself, nice parallel

Anouar

Nice to see Elijah kicked klaus ass.
