he was not the king until he got Davina. He could not do anything to the witches, that is not what being king does.

The next episodes are amazing, i can't wait for u to see them. I love Marcel, but he's being just stupid at this point

Kluas on Vampire diaries was unbeatable. But on the originals the witches are more powerful. An the enemies are more dangerous to kluas .he was dealing with highschool teens on Vampire diaries . So don't underestimate Marcel he been around a long time an has dahvina on his side . Marcel learned everything from kluas so he definitely smart enough to not be disrespected on show .

I don’t like dismissing what Marcel accomplish with the ‘Mikaelsons weren’t in town.’ Marcel is a Mikaelson. He helped them build that empire in the first place. He was always gonna be on top. And, it's not like he just inherited the throne from his father. He’s the one who took down the werewolves and the witches- keep in mind that Mikaelson left town in 1919 and Davina is sixteen years, therefore, he didn’t always have her around. And, got other vampires to follow him. Marcel didn’t just become the king because he was next in line for the throne. He earned it.

That’s a fair point but sofie has a point when she says that marcel is getting to cocky. Marcel accomplished MANY things on his own against the witches and werewolves, that was no easy feat to overcome but sofie has a point when she says he’s now trying to go against THE originals, the most powerful vampire family in history and the strongest super natural entity that has so far been introduced in the originals (klaus). He tried when he went against klaus with Rebekah and failed HORRIBLY because he somehow with all his knowledge he’s had for a long time, underestimated klaus, klaus above all people. And same thing happened with Elijah this episode, he underestimated Elijah and the length he’d go to discipline him and that resulted to the death of his best friend. I agree he is a great strategist and smart but as of so far he’s way out of his league and with the information sofie has of him thus far can and should dismiss marcel as a threat

Marcel gets cocky due to his relationship with Klaus (and Rebecca for that matter). He knows they won't kill them (however, he obvi forgot that his friends can be used as leverage). It's interesting to me that Elijah does not have that same relationship with Marcel - it is Klaus and Rebecca who do. So, Elijah simply doesn't kill Marcel because as Marcel said Klaus wouldn't even be able to speak to Elijah if he did. Additionally, I wonder if, because Marcel was literally raised by the Mickelsons and he has always known them from that perspective - he doesn't view them in the way that everyone else does. They don't come across as the "big bads" to him. idk

The series explains why Elijah and marcels relationship isn’t like klaus’s and Rebekah’s and when the time comes I can point it out to you to avoid spoiling it to sofie but yes marcel definitely speaks to the orginials the way he does because even though he knows what they’re capable of he also knows them as being part of his family and seen these big bad unbeatable villains make sacrifices, vouch and show they care for marcel which is something the originals rarely do on their own let alone all of them doing so with 1 person
