You totally hit the nail on the head at the end! Not sure if you read these comments, but I just wanted to agree with you. Rob chose Talisa as his wife, choosing love, while Jon turned his back on Ygritte to uphold his vows as a man of the Night’s Watch, choosing duty. I love Jon Snow so much, his development is great. As you say, it shows us the difference between Robb and Jon so well too.

I love when Jon spits in that guys face in order to get the upper hand. In episode 5 Karl said Jon was taught to fight with honor and gained the upper hand by spitting in Jons face which is not honorable. He learned from that fight and used it. Jon is my favorite character because he does the right thing, keeps his word and honor but knows when to bend it. I feel like he is the better version of Ned. Ned didn't bend and got killed, Robb broke for love and got killed but Jon bends his honor when needed and he is still here.

During the intro, you asked "What's this place?" It is Moat Cailin, the seat of House Bolton.

Anonymous

Yes, you are correct. It is not their seat, only under their banner.
