Yeah Tyrion def loves Jamie for a reason - because unlike Cersei, Jamie loves Tyrion. For example, Jamie started a duel with Ned Stark and his men after Catelyn kidnapped Tyrion. So Jamie is willing to go to great lengths for those he loves or cares about...like jumping in a pit with a bear...or pushing a child off a tower so that his own children and sister are not killed when Robert and others find out about their relationship (it's not right but a lot of people would choose their family/children's lives over another person's life)
