I think you contradicted yourself there, Stefan would be one of the last people to lay a finger on elena, the fact that he was going over to kill her shows you he wasn’t in his right of mind as a humanity off vampire plus it benefitted him killing her as it would have had Damon off his back if he accomplished the task, most humanity off vampires result to killing unless not killing benefits them like Caroline when she had her humanity off not killing benefited leaving her alone so she tried not to, and even then she still tried killing Stefan’s niece, No humanity vampires find killing to be the fastest way to get rid of a problem without it somehow coming back to bite them, if Enzo would have had his neck snapped he could’ve eventually woken up and fought Stefan if Bonnie was to be able to fend him off which by her history she’s found ways to do so even with no magic, the reason for Enzo’s death was to push Bonnie to inject him with the cure and was to get Bonnie enough of a traumatic event to show signs for her magic as we will see down the lines why, overall look at any vampire with humanity off and you’ll see killing for them is as common as breathing, mostly if it somehow benefits them like it did for Stefan going to kill Elena in this episode

What Stefan did was so messed up. Bonnie doesn’t deserve to go through this pain when she was finally happy. Now stefan is a human and he’s gonna be filled with so many emotions now.
