I wish they would’ve went with what most of us were thinking when we first saw the episode. It would’ve been a lot more powerful but alright

This episode was well intentioned but yes, flawed and contradictory. They used Gunn to play the devil's advocate. I liked that they showed how the police disproportionately harm poor whites too, but yes, definitely poor people of color at a much higher rate. That thing Kate said about their being more murders before... was so dumb and off putting. There are other ways of combating crime... namely through prevention, and that comes through a livable wages and more resources. The less resources the more crime. Police brutality and murder is not in any way a means that justifies the end.
