the one thing a lot of anti damon fans don't point out is how much damon did for jeremy even in moments elena wasn't there like when katherine got in an accident with Jeremy and damon saved him and got scared he was gonna die or when jeremy told damon bonnie was dead and damon got mad but was upset and hugged jeremy and how much damon makes jeremy smile and laugh, like he has that fun, crazy and funny uncle relationship with Jeremy that a lot of anti damon fans or stelena fans hate or avoid to mention. damon did try to bond with jeremy that's why and despite everything jeremy was drawn to damon just like bonnie and just like caroline when she was tryna help find a way to not only bring bonnie back but bring damon back and future moments. Because they all know he's not the same person and they understand that he went through a lot just like they all did and show he cares in different ways until they got to understand that he cares way more than what he shows or what he says. There is a reason why they all care about him and became friends with including the liv forbes

This episode was beautifully done. The cinematography was wonderful. I just really loved how in the entire episode there was a lot of shadow work with light creeping in, for example the scene in Liz's office. The scene with Caroline bursting in and how everything slows down and goes mute was perfection. It was a good play to showcase the emotional turmoil. The kiss finally happened and I seriously don't think that it could be any better than this. It was the perfect timing and I was really happy that Stefan could read the situation well in this moment and he made the move. The shot through the door frame where you see the door wide open and then the light of course reminded me of Damon and Elena's previous two kisses. But it's so good because it symbolizes the light they find in each other (both Delena and Stelena). I used to think that the writers are using Liz's death to bring Steroline closer but now I don't feel the same way. I realise that death has made them realise a lot of things. Caroline realised she loved Stefan when he died. And then when she told him that she hated him, he was able to experience just how much it hurt him which I am guessing has helped him navigate his feelings better than before. I remember how during prom, Caroline had told him that he would move on one day and fall in love with someone without realising it. And that's exactly what happened with both of them but they just never thought it would have been with one another back in the day. But Liz's death isn't what is drawing them closer because it's not the circumstances that brought upon the feelings. It's just a matter of coincidence in the timing of things. I was hoping to see Caroline with Liz during those last few moments with her but then I also realise just how beautiful the moments between Damon and Liz were. We could see him in a different light (more as a son). It was sad but nicely portrayed how death is is uncontrollable, unexpected and unwanted. Something no one was ready for. And later it made sense to me as to why Caroline wasn't there because she was someone who would want to try and control which she has been trying to do all this while. When Stefan tells Caroline that it doesn't matter how someone spends their last moments but what matters are the moments that led up to those last moments was all heart. And that is why Caroline not being there with Liz didn't matter eventually because she had been in Liz's life for all the time in the world. She loved and cared for her mother and protected her from all that she could. And it was so heartbreakingly beautiful how the last moments she spends with her mother was through a memory. And even if we come back to Damon, it makes sense because only we could got to see the door open to his issues with the past and losing his mother but it also has left the space for Caroline and Damon to grow closer since that is the only bonding we are yet to see. He is the only one who knows what Liz wants to tell Caroline. Tell her that her mother found peace in the fact that she was dying an ordinary death.

Liz death was the most hearthbreaking of all TVD, because was non supernatural but was real. The scene in the bedroom between her and Damon, was so well acted. Liz was the only platonic relationship Damon had with a woman, they had a mutual care and a tender friendship, and her dying brought back memories and feelings of the loss of his mother when he was only seventeen. Candice is such a great actress too. The scene with Stefan and Caroline kiss was just perfection, all that lead to it and the way it happened was so organic and natural, very sweet and gentle. And the end scene....what can I say... the writers of this show surely know how to emotionally engage the audience. Very rarely I've seen a show with such an effortless beauty delivered from everybody writers, actors, directors, editors, music supervisor etc. This show is very unique and very poetic.

Cryingggg damm this episode is beautiful yet so painful. The memory of Young Caroline riding the bike with Liz always gets me so emotional and the music is sooo beautiful it’s perfect. Liz’s death is very heartbreaking for me no matter how many times I watch her death scene it’s always very heartbreaking and so emotional. The real ness and knowing she died a normal death makes it even more painful amount all the supernatural deaths and I’ve always loved Liz. Damon and Liz- wow just wow their bond is so beautiful and pure she asks him to write her eulogy how beautiful is that I just can’t 😭😭I love how he tells her terrible things happen to really amazing people.

Steroline finally having their epic kiss that was just perfect, the sunlight gleaming on them the way he looked at her and I really loveddd what he tells her right before the kiss their conversation was so freaking sweet I always get teary eyed watching them kiss here it’s so beautiful and perfect ♥️ Jeremy and Damon loved their scenes together this episode.

Steroline is my favorite couple on the show right after another one that I don't want to spoil (the other one it's on the originals), anyway this episode always destroyed me, I cried as hell AGAIN reaching this with u, I think I've never cried for a show like I did for this one (even though it's not my fav series) except for Buffy.

I think Stefan just likes her and is willing to give going out with her a chance. He doesn’t love her romantically the way she loves him in this episode.

Besides the Damon and Bonnie “death” scene, this is another one that’s ranked equal. Out of the entire show there’s only one more that really hurts me like these two events. Liz was literally the last parental figure and she was a beautiful person. The connection her and Damon have is honestly also so beautiful because it was with her he shared one with first out of anyone else really on the show (stefan is an exclusion)
