W.C.

This is peak One Tree Hill. I love season 3.

Ok let's get one thing straight. Keith did try to kill Dan, he had the gun and planned on using it, and the only reason he didn't is because Deb stopped him. And if he succeeded he would have killed Dan just because he was an asshole (which as far as I know it's not an offence that warrants death). Dan deserved (before killing Keith) a beating, maybe even prison, but not death. Deb for me is the weakest (as a person) character in the show. She couldn't be alone and blamed it all on Dan (which is only partly true). Then she and Keith slept together, which spiralled into a cruel game that Dan set up out of anger and revenge. And instead of leaving, she tries to kill Dan, fails, than leaves anyway. Dan is the mvp of this show for me, he has such an interesting journey to darkness, you will see. But one thing you cannot say is that Dan is solely responsible for his development. He is an asshole and a bad guy, but he is definitely not evil. Besides the Dan thing, I really loved this episode, I feel so bad for Jimmy, Luke and Mouth. And they are right, this one moment in season 3 will affect (visibly) the rest of the show up until the final moments. Can't wait for more.

Also Jimmy's mom. It's so heartbreaking as well.

This episode hurts me so much in the best way. I really deeply relate to Lucas in this episode, which just makes me even more proud of him for his decision at the end--I know just how hard it had to have been for him to make that choice, but he has a huge heart and is so good and did the right thing despite the pain he was in. Lucas gets a lot of unfair hate throughout the show but I seriously don't get how people can watch an episode like this and not just completely have their heart go out to him. Especially when he was blaming himself for Keith's death, and Karen basically agreed with him. I get where she was coming from and that she didn't really mean it, but it still hits like a knife to the stomach every time. Anyway, fantastic reaction. Very much looking forward to more 👀

I Am Not Chamari

It's fine if a party is what some people need to be able to grieve and deal with that day, but it was always pretty obvious to me that Lucas would HATE something like that and I think Brooke should have known that. At least Lucas got to talk to Peyton, which was my favorite scene of the episode. Luke was at his best - smiling, laughing, enjoying himself, and maybe even forgetting, for just a little while. I think Lucas needs the one-on-one time with his friends in this moment. I love Karen but gosh, that may have been the worst thing she has ever said to Lucas, especially at this time, when he was expecting his mother to be his mother - because of her grief, she was unable to meet him there and it is truly heartbreaking. Lucas going to Jimmy's funeral made me SOB. Even with the knowledge that he believes he killed Keith, he was STILL able to rise above it all. And that is why I will always love Lucas.

The scene with Lucas and Peyton talking in the library has always stood out to me. I think it shows that these two have such an understanding of the other person and what they need in times of emotional pain and hardship. I’ve always thought these two have connected on such a deep level and it comes so naturally whether it’s on a romantic or platonic level. It always pains me to see Brooke so insecure. And in this episode she tried what she thought was best to help Lucas. And I know it was with great intentions. I just think its the disconnect of understanding on a deeper level. And it’s not to fault Brooke at all. It’s just is what it is I think. The two scenes compared to each other shows off the contrast between the two pairs in such a great way. Overall, I think Lucas and Peyton’s connection…in a romantic way in season one, and platonic now has been so natural.. and for Lucas and Brooke, they’ve had to work at building their connection and relationship and are still doing so. I don’t think that developing a relationship one way over the other is better, it’s just so interesting to break it down and really look at the components.

Yeah you can see their connection as 2 persons with deep understanding of one another since the first few episodes of the show.

That beginning scene is one where we really see Dan has always been a sociopath killing a bird because it was "weak". Love Naley in this episode.
