I love this episode, what a twist! The TVD books came before Buffy but the writers for the show definitely paralleled more with Buffy in my opinion, the books mythology is very different. Most would say Buffy is the OG, and I would agree, but I don't think it's bad that TVD was inspired from it in some aspects. Both are amazing in their own ways. Angel definitely reminds me a lot of Stefan, it's almost the same plot except Elena isn't a slayer (that would make everything so much easier LMAO). I personally love the build up between Angel and Buffy more then Stefan and Elena. It's definitely more sad then happy though. I love the scene when Angel revealed himself. There were a lot of hints thrown at him being a vampire in previous episodes that you catch onto when you rewatch. He's definitely A LOT older lol. Of course the slayer falls for a vampire, but what's his deal? In this world vampires don't have souls... they're all bad, but like he said the Gypsy's had the perfect punishment for him, by restoring his soul after all the people he killed. A lot of information revealed this episode. His connection with Darla, and her being his maker, is very interesting. The vampire mythology gets deeper, especially around Angel. His story is very dark. A vampire needing an invitation is part of older lore and I've seen it in some vampire movies. It's so easy to get an invitation in these shows, it happens so much I definitely wouldn't randomly invite someone in. Maybe I'm just paranoid xD I'm seriously loving these reactions, can't wait for more!

The vampire crossing the threshold thing is very old. It’s just about if you let evil into your home it can re enter at any time. Of course there was always a twist because some vampires can hypnotize people and the scripts of the vampire movies would be really odd if every two minutes some vampire was saying ‘ do you mind if I come in?’ Then, I guess to make it more interesting, bad vampires have to be invited and can be evil, good vampires don’t have to be invited in but no matter how hungry they get they have to remain friendly. Then there are the vampires you hire to clean up after a rave. They invite 200 more, eat everyone and carry on for 4 more days.As for Angel being older yes, but he had to be right because otherwise his character would not have the credibility it needs. Although for many American TV channels a relationship would def. be pushing it, I have to add one thing. ...Nothing Compares to You...I love this reaction. Definitely a multi watch.

Wonderful reaction. BtVS takes its lore from the old time classic vampire mythology. A lot of newer supernatural shows take a more modern fantasy lore. So when watching this type of show each one will have their own lore.
