Disclaimer: I treat watching this show as if I've never seen it before. The only difference is that I will know what is more significant than you as I've lost count of how many times I've watched the show. So I will make comments about events up until the point you have watched, but I may comment on a certain point as it is significant but you might not have picked up on it, which might make it seem like a spoiler. I'm only saying this because another reactor thought I'd given a spoiler because I'd come up with a conclusion about one of his comments. I had to then go through every episode where something was mentioned for me to come up with my comments. He had missed some minor points that mounted up and appeared trivial at the time. I will endeavour to comment as if I'm watching it for the first time. My comments might include theories about motives. Most of those times they are theories. Occasionally confirmed, sometimes a complete load of rubbish and sometimes we never find out. For instance there are 2 reasons why Damon could be acting the way he is with the knowledge we have after this episode. Either he is evil, or he wants Stefan out of the way. Clearly he's up to something, and I personally think he doesn't want Stefan to know what he is up to. So he's been killing people to try and get Stefan to leave town. He could be after Elena, but I think he knows that it's not an option right now. I don't know what Stefan expected. How long did he think he could date Elena before things would get awkward. Not a spoiler, but to make things easier, age-wise, Elena is 17, Jeremy is days away from his 16th birthday. Stefan is 17 and Damon is 25. In the books Damon is only 19, and picking a 30yo to play a 19yo was never going to work for long, so I think it took a while to decide Damon's age. The show starts on 7th September 2009. Elena's parents died on 23rd May 2009 and this episode takes place on 24th September 2009. Caroline is almost 17, Bonnie is a bit younger. The guy who plays Jeremy (Steven R McQueen) is older than Nina (Elena) and was in his early 20's. Yes the Salvatore brothers are hot (I'm far more partial to Damon in that sense). Any episode with an undressed Salvatore brother always goes up a notch for me. Although I'm quite happy to see them in a suit too. I'll see how much if I can get through any more episodes tonight (it's 02:05), I'm looking forward to watching one of them in particular. Great reaction. Take care, stay safe, stay healthy.

so Damon is 7 years older than the others. interesting. about Stefan not telling Elena who he is. I was thinking the same thing. how long that he expected to hide the truth from Elena . if Elena didn't find out about Stefan herself was he ever willing to tell her? was he trying to find the right time to tell her? or did he never intended to stay and the plan was to know her and go so she won't find out?

I don't even blame Damon for Stefan & Elena's mini-fight here. Stefan did that all on his own - he literally could have told her anything, but he kept on making it about Damon, when really Elena just wanted to know... anything about him.
