Now that the cover reveal has happened:

Here's what I sent in to the publisher as the cover (with art extended beyond the cover boundaries so it can be printed around the edge of the cover for the hardcover edition)

I'd like to share the initial ideas/sketches/feedback process with you too - I'll post that in a day or two hopefully once I gather up all the sketches and get my thoughts in order :)

I've been doing some re-drawing of long scrolling panels into double page spreads.

This one I re-drew completely (other than the silhouettes at the front) because the original composition was so horizontal that it felt easier to do the background over again.
I've uploaded this at full resolution, which is to say it's wallpaper sized if you want :)

This one is not great... I have no idea what brushes I used originally for the buildings, and the art isn't quite consistent because of this. And the perspective I used in the original drawing was strong but worked well on a thin, vertical panel, but it feels a bit too strong for a wider panel? But hopefully with speech bubbles on top and the page fold in the middle it won't be too noticeable.

And here's a panel of random sci-fi buildings that I'm sharing mostly because I'm proud of it. It was fun! I remember actively disliking doing built environments when drawing Always Human, but working on the (much less blocky and considerably more complicated!) built environments in Aerial Magic has done a lot to level up my skills XD

Voyage Goya

I just love your rendering of space, both in the (gorgeous) cover and in the wallpaper-page *-*
