tsiw style experimenting? (Patreon)

I really wasn't happy with how busy the last page I uploaded felt, so I thought I'd try a simpler colouring style/a more limited colour palette, just  to see how it turned out.

I ended up recolouring both of the pages.

 (Also made a couple of dialogue changes because I am not very good at letting things go.)

Despite my love for digital watercolour, I'm surprised by how much I like this. It's probably not as 'magical' or attention grabbing as the other colouring style, but it's more detailed and grounded. I think this could work well for the story because there'll be a much stronger visual contrast between scenes set in the real world, and dream sequences (which will stay painterly, like how I originally drew them).

I'll probably do the next few pages like this and see how I feel about it - and then I'll have to go back and re-colour some of the pages either one way or the other :)
