To be the daughter of absolution

Supper cools to an empty sky

Carried out in wordless misery

Every step in their design

The stars devote their path to me

Acquiescent to my mark

Yet a chasm bears itself to me

In that a star refused to spark

Shall I be ordinary?

Is it potential they fear in me?

Or does every star align devoid

Of my memory?

Iridescence brands the evil

Of the winter they tried to forget

A holloway of nebulae

I'll be the hero yet

Something’s changing

A dogma aching

I think I’ve played along

For a while

Can you feel it shifting?

In between the cuts

Lacerations

Of cosmic dust

The breadth of every scattered light

Could be my own

Singing songs of battle

Singing songs of home

Shall I be ordinary?

Is it potential they fear in me?

Or does every star align devoid

Of my memory?

Iridescence brands the evil

Of the winter they tried to forget

A holloway of nebulae

I'll be the hero yet
