Arena Tamriel (Patreon)

You guys might remember the start of this one being posted last year, and here it is complete. 

While there are quite a few maps of Arena's Tamriel out on the net, there doesn't appear to be one that has the whole continent, at correct proportion, labeled... and in the original style. So I made my own. 

The proportion of the provinces comes from the continent map, as does the stylish banner frame (much of which I adjusted and rescaled by hand at a different resolution than the rest of the image). The province labels also came from this view. 

In the province view maps, the shape of each province is quite distorted to fit neatly into the game window. I rescaled each to match the continent view, then removed and recreated the settlement icons, roads, and province borders (which were all noticeably distorted by the scaling, and at different proportions to begin with). I also cleaned up and evened out the borders between the different screenshots, and filled in areas that were covered up by the fast travel icons. Each of the settlement names came directly from the game map (though I adjusted the colors and added additional shading to make them pop). 

As a final step, after scaling everything down to keep things crisp, I changed the color mode to "indexed" with 256 colors, to keep things looking unified and retro.
